Maintain Your Certification

What are PCHs?

Professional Contact Hours (PCHs) are one-hour blocks of time that you spend learning, or teaching others.
If you accumulating these blocks over a three-year period you can maintain your certification updated status with SMI.

PCH Requirements

To maintain your certification, you have to earn a certain number of PCHs over a 3-year cycle
For example, if you hold a Strategic Management Professional (SMP)® Certification, to maintain it, you’ll need to earn 60 PCHs ; while others, like the Certified Associate In Strategic Management ™ (SMI - CASM™)® require 20.

Renew Your Certification

If you've already started to earn PCHs and want to get the renewal process started, report your PCHs.
